I Hate Tuesdays.
Actually that's not fair, most Tuesdays I have no problem with; it's specifically next Tuesday that I hate, bloody Valentine's day, I reckon Capone had the right idea. I don't really begrudge people their happiness, it's just seems that at this time of year it seems like it's being rammed down my throat by everyone and everything around me. You can't turn on the TV at the moment without being bombarded with adverts for roses, chocolates and "Now that's what I call the greatest romantic love songs to do your thing to in the world ever part 9". I foolishly went into Clinton's the other day to try and get some generic thankyou notes, and the combination of comically oversized pink cards, helium balloons and soft toys; all excessively embellished with hearts and general overly saccharine bullshit was as much as I could take, it was all I could do to stop myself vomiting all over the display of love sick Eeyores.
Now there must be a large number of other people who share my views, and the way I see it, if everyone is cashing in on all those who are in 'Love' at this time of year, then why shouldn't I try make a couple of quid out of those who aren't. To this end I am hereby initiating the first annual... "Valentine's day, shmalentine's day; who needs all of this love bollocks anyway, I'd far rather be at home with a takeaway curry and a can of Lager" - day. Think it'll catch on?
